Cross Connection Specialist Certification:
A four day course that will enable participants, upon successful completion, to obtain Oregon Department of Health Services certification as an inspector. Topics include backflow incidents, hydraulics of backflow, design and function of backflow assemblies, Enforcement Document writing, regulations, establishing and maintaining a cross connection program, legal liabilities, safety, conducting inspections, customer education, and record keeping.
This course will provide 2.8 CEU.
Cross Connection Specialist Update:
A one day course that meets the Oregon Department of Health Services requirements for renewal of Cross Connection Inspector/Specialist Certification. Topics include new regulations, inspection techniques, new manuals and publications, resource information, and inspector safety.
This course will provide 0.6 CEU.
Backflow Assembly Tester Certification:
A five day course that will enable participants, upon successful completion, to obtain Oregon Department of Health Services certification for testing backflow assemblies. Topics include backflow incidents, hydraulics, backflow assembly design, function and testing procedures, record keeping, assembly repair, and tester safety. The focus of this course is learning and performing test procedures.
This course will provide 3.5 CEU.
Backflow Assembly Tester Recertification:
A one day course that meets the Oregon Department of Health Services requirements for renewal of Backflow Assembly Tester Certification. Course includes review of assemblies and test procedures, tester safety, new regulations, hands on proficiency testing, and written quiz as required by OHD.
This course will provide 0.5 CEU.
Backflow Assembly Repair:
A course designed for anyone that repairs backflow assemblies. This is a hands-on training that allows participants to disassemble, repair, assemble, and test assemblies. Topics include understanding the repair issues of assemblies, testing and repairing on fire lines, manufacturers recommended repair procedures and techniques, how to order repair kits and replacements, a look at the various gauges on the market and their proper care, and discover “must have” tools.
Confined Space Entry:
This one day course provides the understanding, knowledge, and skills necessary for the safe performance of confined-space entry duties in compliance with state and federal OSHA regulations. Topics include protection requirements, OSHA regulations, host employer's responsibilities, permit-required spaces, and emergency rescue and retrieval.
This course will provide 0.6 CEU

A high school Diploma or equivalent is required to obtain an Specialist or Tester Certification in the State of Oregon. 1-year experience in a water system or plumbing is required to obtain the initial Specialist certification from the State of Oregon. |
